Students majoring in horticulture prepare for careers in landscaping, fruit, vegetable, turfgrass, interior plantscaping, golf course, woody ornamentals, greenhouse, and related industries.
From its traditional (and still significant) agricultural base, the past 50 years have seen a significant expansion in manufacturing and industrial building in Pierce County. Most of these facilities are owner-occupied, but several owner-developers have constructed successful build-to-suit and lease projects in our territory as well. Vacancy rates are historically very low, but there have been some recent moves that have created several available space opportunities in Pierce County worth a closer look.
Several Pierce County communities and developers have recognized the market opportunity and benefits of additional industrial and business development, and despite our modest size we now have over 210 acres of appropriately zoned land ready for new development.
