SCORE St. Paul Launches the 2018 “Simple Steps for Starting Your Business Small Business” Workshop Series

St. Paul, MN – SCORE (https://stpaul.score.org/), mentors to America’s small business, in partnership with Canon, introduce the 2018 business planning workshop series to aid start-up entrepreneurs.

SCORE is committed to creating 1 million small businesses by 2020 and the SCORE Simple Steps for Starting Your Business Series is an integral part of achieving this goal by helping entrepreneurs test their business idea and begin to plan their start-up effectively.

This SCORE program includes the “Start-up Basics” workshop followed by four business planning sessions. These workshops focus on the “Business Concept,” “Marketing Plan,” “Financial Projections,” and “Funding Sources.” Each session includes exercises to help the entrepreneur plan for success. SCORE mentors are also on hand during this series to assist and answer questions as they arise, and, of course are available for follow on mentoring at no cost to each participant. For more information on the SCORE mentoring services, go to: https://stpaul.score.org/.

“This series helps entrepreneurs understand the crucial components of starting a business,” says Horst Kraft, St. Paul SCORE Chapter Chair. “Our goal is to help our community grow. Helping small business owners test their ideas and complete some initial planning for their start-up is essential to achieving success,” adds Joe Folsom, St. Croix Valley SCORE Branch Manager.

These workshops will be held every Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM starting January 18, 2018 at the Hudson, Wisconsin Public Library (701 1st Street, Hudson, WI, 54016). Sponsored locally by the St. Croix Valley SCORE Branch and the Hudson Public Library (hudsonpl@hudsonpubliclibrary.org), the SCORE Simple Steps for Starting Your Business Workshop Series help entrepreneurs make a smart start. “At the end of the five workshops, attendees will have a solid understanding of start-up basics, marketing strategy, and financials,” says SCORE CEO Ken Yancey. He adds, “This is a blended learning model bringing workshops, learning exercises and mentoring to entrepreneurs in a one-stop training program to help entrepreneurs make a smart small business start.”
