Founded in 1874, University of Wisconsin River Falls, is one of 13 comprehensive universities in the prestigious University of Wisconsin System. Located on 226 acres of rolling land, just 30 minutes from the Twin Cities, UWRF is a leader in exemplary teaching, undergraduate research, and sustainability. Our mission is to help prepare students to be productive, creative, ethical, engaged citizens and leaders with an informed global perspective.

UWRF offers 60 majors from three distinct colleges:

  • College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences
  • College of Arts and Sciences
  • College of Education, Business and Allied Health

CVTC has over 60 programs, faculty with real-life experience and state-of-the art facilities. Their mission is to meet the workforce needs of the region and they work closely with leaders of business and industry to ensure that their graduates are prepared for jobs in today’s workplace.

The Applied Technology Center at the Gateway Campus in Eau Claire is an incubation center with access to specialized equipment and technology. The center leases space to new or existing businesses, allows businesses access to the equipment at the center to help in business development, and houses the NanoScience Laboratory equipment which includes high-powered
microscopy and a class 100 cleanroom.

The newest addition to CVTC is the Fire Safety Center at the West Campus in Eau Claire.  This state-of-the-art facility is one of only four in the United States.  The Fire Safety Center enables CVTC to better serve the manufacturing sector. Whether conducting required test procedures, or running custom-designed fire testing for research and development, fire safety issues are very important for new product development.
